Craft Interview
Describe your style simply.
My photography:Whatever moves me in the moment;I sometimes plan for it too.I mostly love nature kinds of shots with 35mm at various speeds.
My Drawings: I'm new to this medium;use various leads and charcoals; love to experiment with almost anything; hope to draw from someone's pose someday; love the human body;any volunteers? My future plan is to paint with acrylics.
What do you buy at the art supply store?
I buy whatever I need, mostly new lead pencils and recently some charcoals. Next will be supplies for painting with acrylics;looking forward to it.
What technical problems intrigue you?
The finer details;getting them exact, although distortions can be lots of fun too. I love to experiment with blending various shades and utilizing erasers to assist with highlighting. I never knew erasers could be so much fun;always thought they were used for mistakes! Amazing little tool! I also use the technique of contrasting lines for effect.
With my camera, the result is not always planned; that's the beauty of creation.
Among your own work, what is your favorite piece? Where is it now?
I have many sunsets;the one depicted was taken on the Jamestown Bridge shot out my sunroof of my car; the reflection was miracle, totally unexpected.
Recently is my "Fall Illusions"; the pond at Polaski State Park was so placid. Another recent photo is a Finalist entry in a photography contest.
What impressions do you want others to take from your work?
Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder; there is so much beauty in RI!
All you have to be is creative;let your mind loose and you never know what the outcome will be. Half the time I don't plan the end product. Art is truly a process, a beautiful one at that.
Where/how can others view and purchase your work?
You can e-mail me and we can discuss it.

What are the sources of courage?
My Art is my passion; it never depends on money;it would help, but I mostly do it for fun., although it would be nice to be hired some day for fun stuff!!!
