Describe your style simply.
Diverse range from photorealism to impressionistic and abstract. Each subject and composition presents a unique challenge that hints at the most appropriate style to use.
What do you buy at the art supply store?
I should take out shares in local art stores. I buy everything you can imagine I'll need and then probably more.
What technical problems intrigue you?
capturing radiant light and color aswell as designing a strong compositional structure.
Among your own work, what is your favorite piece? Where is it now?
I don't have a favourite - each creation preserves a unique memory during which it was created.
What impressions do you want others to take from your work?
Many of my images trigger positive and instant reactions. I like to think that people find something enjoyable in the image that they want to keep it around and enjoy for years to come.
Where/how can others view and purchase your work?
I have stored recent images at www.pbase.com/burnsgallery.
My web site is www.brendanburnsart.com
Please email me at bbkw04@aol.com if you want to see more or discuss a purchase or commission
What are the sources of courage?
Art is an expression of the creative energies all around us. I don't think too much about running out of energy or courage. I just paint and create.
Anything else you want to say? Say it here...
I live by the water and am inspired to paint what's around me. The gardens, the coastal scenes, and any wildlife that I am captivated by at the time. I work in oils and acrylics on images from a few inches wide to four feet wide. I am busy with the gardens and of course the sunrise images that supply an endless amount of inspiration and color. This is also the time of year that I am frequently commissioned to paint dogs and cats.
